Sunday Reflections: What Makes Me Feel Loved

What makes me feel loved? It's when people make time for me. I don't care where we eat or how we spend our day together - heck, we can even just stay at home and binge watch some old television series like Friends, so long as we're together. When I took the Love Languages test a few months back, this was confirmed to me. It's not words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, or physical touch that will make me feel the most loved, but it's really the time that you and I spend with each other. I'm not saying that the four others do not matter, they do, but they're really not as important as quality time (at least for me).

For example, I told my partner not to buy me flowers anymore because they will just wilt after a few days, but he still does anyway. Sure, he's stubborn sometimes (haha), but I still appreciate him for that. I appreciate how he prefers to picks me up (rather than meet me at the mall) so I don't have to drive home late and how he tells me I look beautiful even though I'm in a loose shirt and old slippers and haven't even bothered brushing my hair - all these things still make me feel loved, but when we're together, that's when I'm happiest.

It's really how at the end of the day, after all the stresses and problems we face on a daily basis, it's who you want to share your last moments awake with that matters. I know a lot of people would probably prefer to lie down in bed and get a good night's sleep instead, but the fact that he would rather see me even for just an hour, I don't know, it just makes me feel all giddy inside. What about you? What makes YOU feel loved? :)
