Winter Garden: Flash Frozen Desserts

Winter GardenWinter Garden
Prepare to enter a winter wonderland in the heart of Katipunan Avenue!

Winter Garden Desserts is the newest hang-out place to hit this side of the metro! They opened their doors only last week, offering flash frozen desserts that ice cream lovers will definitely enjoy!
Winter Garden
Their name came from the concept of kazahana, which literally means "wind flowers." It's the meteorological phenomenon where snowflakes are falling from a clear blue sky. It's almost a miracle - same with the idea of having a garden during winter. Winter Garden - it has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Winter Garden
I'm a big ice cream fan myself. I will never say no to it - no matter how full I am or how cold it is, there is always room in my tummy for some ice cream. It also works when you're having a ridiculously crappy day, which I was when I visited them. After having a few spoonfuls, I was already feeling better. I know that sounds shallow, but it's true! Ice cream is the ultimate comfort food! I love ice cream!! :)
Winter Garden
It also helped that they surrounded the room with refreshing blue tones and snow flaked walls, it's perfect for unwinding after a long day.
Winter Garden
Students are so lucky to have a place like this to study in or hang out at. Before, we only had coffee shops and org rooms. Haha! And guess what, it's located just beside National Book Store, in the same complex where Sango and Ersao are located. ;)

What differentiates Winter Garden from other ice cream/dessert parlors is that they offer an experience. Watch them make ice cream from scratch in just two minutes! Forget having to wait hours for it to freeze; with liquid nitrogen, you instantly get the result!

How beautiful is this? It's called Morning Campire - toasted marshmallows and homemade cornflakes in flash frozen milky vanilla delight!
Winter Garden
The ice cream is creamy, almost like a gelato. The reason for this is that since they flash freeze the dessert, the milk molecules stay small and the water particles don't have time to grow into ice crystals. The result is the smoothest, creamiest ice cream possible. Amazingggg!
Winter Garden
Their ice cream is so good, I had three of them! I'm not kidding! :P

Below, you have the Rockin' Rocky Road. I was super excited to try this because I love Rocky Road ice cream. The brownies, the marshmallows, and the peanuts go so well together! I'm so glad Winter Garden's version did not disappoint. If you're looking for something chocolatey, I'd definitely recommend this! For Nutella lovers, try their Nocciola! ;)
Winter Garden
And finally, the smokiest one of all, Make Grandma Proud! It's peanut butter ice cream with healthy chunks of peanuts and peanut brittle. Peanut overload!! So happy! <3
Winter Garden
Prices for the ice cream are as follows:
Single Scoop (P120), Twin Scoop (P195), Combi/Two Flavors (P215)

If you're looking for something even more unique, try smoking on their Winter's Breath items!
Winter Garden
For the Picnic Tray, what you do is dip your choice of sweets into the bucket with liquid nitrogen for ten seconds. Wait three seconds for it to dry, put it in your mouth, and blow!

Thank you so much to Gia for being my model for this one! :)

Kids and kids at heart will definitely enjoy bonding at Winter Garden Desserts. Just please make sure to wait for the liquid nitrogen to dry before consuming because it can cause frostbite! Safety first! :)

Watch out for new items on the menu! Keep checking their Facebook page for updates! ;)
